Karl Curtis Commits Long-Term Future to Parkway

Parkway manager becomes the first in the club’s history to move into a full-time role.

Plymouth Parkway are delighted to confirm that First Team Manager Karl Curtis has committed his long-term future to the football club, moving into a full-time role from 1 October 2026.

Curtis has signed a contract with Parkway through to May 2029, becoming the first manager in the club’s history to take on the role on a full-time basis.

The move represents another important step as Parkway continues to strengthen the football operation and build the foundations for the next stage of the club’s development.

Working full-time within the football club will give Karl greater time to focus on the First Team, with recruitment, player development, preparation and longer-term squad planning all forming part of the role.

More importantly, it gives Parkway the opportunity to build with greater continuity and a longer-term view, rather than simply looking from one game or one season to the next.

The decision comes after an impressive opening to the 2026/27 campaign. Since the start of August, Parkway have put together a strong run of performances across both league and cup football, competing at the top end of the Southern League Premier South while also progressing through the early rounds of the FA Cup.

The opening weeks of the season have also seen Karl continue to develop the squad, bringing new players into the group while giving opportunities to emerging talent alongside an established core.

It has been a positive start on the pitch, and now comes another important step away from it, with the manager moving into a full-time position as Parkway looks to build for the years ahead.

Plymouth Parkway Co-Chairman Mark Russell said: “Getting Karl committed to Plymouth Parkway on a long-term, full-time basis is an important step for the football club.

“We have spoken about continuing to develop the First Team and putting the right foundations in place to progress. Having Karl working full-time within the club is a significant part of that.

“It gives Karl more time to focus on recruitment, player development and preparation, while also allowing us to take a longer-term view of how the squad develops.

“Karl understands this football club, the players and what Parkway is trying to achieve. I’m delighted he has committed his future through to 2029 and I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with him as the club moves forward.”

For Vice-Chairman Gez Baggott, the appointment also represents the natural progression of a relationship with Karl that goes back many years.

Gez shares: “I’ve known Karl from a young age, so I’ve seen first-hand the person he is and the qualities he brings. He is an intelligent, driven and enthusiastic manager, and someone who understands what we are trying to achieve at Plymouth Parkway.

“With the plans around the academy and the wider development of the football club, Karl moving into a full-time role is a perfect fit. This is a long-term project, and having the manager working within the football club on a full-time basis gives us the opportunity to build properly and develop the right environment around the First Team and wider club projects.”

The appointment is another piece of the wider picture taking shape at Plymouth Parkway, building the structure, the people and the foundations needed for the next chapter of the football club.

Plymouth Parkway welcomes Karl and his family into this next chapter and wishes them every success as the club continues to build for the years ahead and beyond.
