Palfrey calls time on his superb spell with Parkway

Plymouth Parkway can confirm that midfielder Billy Palfrey has departed the football club ahead of the 2023/24 season.

We express our genuine appreciation to Billy for his invaluable contribution during his tenure at the football club. Over time, he has grown beyond being just a player and blossomed into an exceptional individual. We had the honour of witnessing Billy mature into a man, embrace fatherhood, and etch himself firmly in the annals of the football club’s legacy.

Upon his loan spell with the football club from Truro City in 2017, Billy switched from right-back to central midfielder and swiftly earned widespread adoration from the Parkway faithful. Former club captain and Parkway legend Shane Krac regarded Billy as the club’s future and one of the best midfielders in the region.

Billy helped Parkway progress up the non-league pyramid and into the Southern League Premier South Division, the highest the football club have played at in their history. His crowning glory would be the memorable 2021/22 campaign with a player of the season award, goals from the halfway line and a league winners medal.

Players leaving football clubs is part of football but although Billy is moving on, he will always be remembered at Plymouth Parkway, and we wish Billy, his partner, and the kids every happiness for the future.

Go well Bill, and thank you.
