Stevens Is A Yellow

Charlie Stevens signs with Parkway

By Jack Hobbs

We are delighted to announce the signing of young defender Charlie Stevens from Dartmouth AFC on a Youth Contract.

The right-back joins Parkway after a strong season with The Darts.

Speaking on his arrival at Bolitho Park, the 18-year-old said: “I feel good and I’m happy to join.”

“I was here for a bit of pre-season last year and I was involved in parts of the last season which was really good.

“The lads are really nice and really welcoming.”

Speaking on his decision to join Parkway, Stevens said: “It’s a high standard. The club’s really well run, all the boys are really nice and it’s a good ground, with good facilities and great fans!

“My aim is to break into the first team and get as many minutes as possible, and to hopefully get that starting spot.

“I know the programmes the club does with younger players and that they’ve got a good set up for development, so for a younger player like myself, it will be good to be at this level where the club can help me push on.”

“Charlie Stevens is someone we have been working with throughout the season and we have been really impressed by his attitude, work rate, and bravery”, said Parkway manager Chris McPhee.

“Some fans may remember him playing in pre-season back in July 2024. He made his debut in the closing weeks of the season and was playing on a dual registration for Brixham.

“Charlie was part of the squad that made history for the club last season when we beat Sittingbourne away to reach the last qualifying round of the FA cup for the first time in our history.

“The progress that Charlie has made with us this season has been massive and we feel he will only get better. He is another example of the young talent that is in the area, and we feel he needs the right support to fulfil his clear high potential.

“Signing young players that we believe can and will develop into important first team players is key for us as a club to evolve. Charlie has a high potential, and we believe we can help him reach it.”

“We look forward to working with Charlie on a more regular basis and to help him get game time in a more challenging environment.”

Club Chairman Mark Russell added: “Charlie has been a player we have seen all last season at training, and he has continued to show great signs for the future.”

“He was key player to get signed to the club for the future and I am looking forward to seeing him develop with the club for many years.”

Everyone at Plymouth Parkway would like to welcome Charlie to the club, and we look forward to seeing him in action very soon!
