Parkway looking to bounceback after Bodmin defeat
Good evening and welcome to Bolitho for another floodlit encounter. Well, straight onto Friday’s epic against Bodmin!
We were so disappointed at the result in what for the neutral was an absorbing game of football full of incident, plenty of chances ,end to end phases of play and of course 5 goals.
We have watched Bodmin prior to the game and really believed we could line up and cause them real problems and on the night we felt we did.
The disappointment from myself and Kevin’s angle was we lost individual battles in key areas of the pitch which proved crucial on the night and a couple of key players for us with regards to the gameplan we set up did not perform to how we know they can.
That being said even though we did not perform to how we know we can the match could have gone either way and at 2-2 with 20 to go we honestly thought we would go on and win the game but alas it was the visitors who nicked the all important goal 10 minutes from time.
The league is far more competitive this season that it has been in a long time so we must steady ourselves and go again and that starts this evening against Exmouth.
This again will be a really tough test for us as they come into the game as one of the form sides, defeating a decent Argyle side in the cup last week and easily disposing of Ivybridge the weekend.
They are a strong physical outfit with a real goal scoring threat so we will need to be at it from the first whistle.
We are all looking for a reaction from the players and I’m sure they will be determined to deliver and get a vital 3 points to keep us amongst the early pacesetters in the league.
Even though we will not have 500 in for tonight’s match as we did on Friday I’m sure the Bolitho faithful will get behind the players.
Big game for us so make some noise! COYY,
Enjoy the match.
