The under 18’s win on Sunday has meant that 3 Plymouth Parkway teams are now progressing to the latter stages of the Devon FA Competitions.
The first team were fortunate to be given a walk over against Witheridge in the first round when they withdrew however made absolute certain of progression from the quarter finals by beating Ivybridge Town 5-1 to progress to the Semi Finals of the competition.
That game marked a Hat trick by Club captain Steve Colwell and a debut goal for under 18’s striker, Connor Spear.
The reserves progression has seen them play 3 games already. A 4-1 victory against Salcome Town was in fact the only time the team have conceded in this competition. A second round victory over Plymouth side Belgrave 0-10 and Elburton Villa 1-0 in the third round has set them up for a 4th round tie against South Devon League leaders Roselands FC.
The under 18’s, who boast a lot of Devon Represntatives within their ranks have also had a cracking start to the Devon Cup. Galmpton were the first round victims to the undefeated U18’s when they fell 4-1. Exeter side ‘Cental Youth were treated to the same scoreline and the 3rd round saw Ged’s side move into the quarter finals with a 4-2 scoreline away to Alphington.
They will now play the winners of the tie between Tavistock Community and Elburton Villa.
Could the club be on course for a hat-trick of Devon cups……
