Dylan Jones Commits to Plymouth Parkway
JONES SIGNS PARKWAY DEALBy Mike Parrish
Plymouth Parkway is pleased to announce that Dylan Jones has signed his first contract with the club, securing his commitment until the end of the 2024/25 season.
A product of Parkway’s expanding youth system, Jones played a crucial role in Parkway’s Under 18’s Devon Cup Final victory against Tiverton Town last season. The young striker gained valuable experience during the previous league campaign and continued his progress through a successful pre-season, contributing to this season’s Southern League journey.
Jones marked his debut senior goal in a friendly against Yeovil Town and has consistently demonstrated his potential in the first team. Notable moments include scoring against AFC Totton in the FA Trophy and Ivybridge in the County Cup. His late-game winner against Walton & Hersham further underscored his capabilities.
Upon signing the contract, Dylan expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m thrilled to sign my first contract with Parkway. I’ve cherished every moment, and being rewarded with a contract is more than I could ask for. A heartfelt thank you to everyone around the club for their belief and encouragement since my arrival. I’m genuinely excited about the future.”
Despite being in the early stages of his footballing career, Dylan will benefit from the guidance of manager Lee Hobbs and his staff. They are committed to providing him with the best opportunities for development over the coming years. Speaking after Dylan’s signature, Manager Lee Hobbs shared: “Dylan has earned this contract. He’s a prime example that there is a pathway to the 1st team for the youth players and if good enough, they will be given an opportunity.”
The football club hope this announcement serves as a catalyst for current Parkway youth players, emphasizing that a path way into the Parkway first team is indeed achievable.
