FA Cup Weekend

This Saturday we are back in FA cup action away at Bridgwater Town following our opening day success away at Buckland in the competition which has earned us the right to take on our higher league opponents from the Evostic Southern Division 1 League.

Bridgwater are placed two leagues higher than us currently so we know this will be a difficult game an another excellent test for us. We approach the game in confident mood after previously defeating Buckland and then continuing our good form in the league with two home wins and a draw on Tuesday evening away at much fancied Tavistock which was an outstanding game to be involved in. Bridgwater have had an indifferent start to the season however have faced some excellent opponents so we will not be taking anything for granted and looking at league tables at this stage of the season. It is nice to go into a game as underdogs for a change so we can relax, enjoy the game and see if we can get the result we want.

The FA Cup is a special competition and is always exciting to play in and meet new opponents and Saturday will be no exception as we look to progress further in the competition and secure prize money which financially at our level is real bonus . We have a coach booked which is always nice and to travel with supporters and committee certainly helps with team spirit and togetherness as a Club. FA  Cup away days are always fantastic with terrific atmosphere.
Our dream, our cup final for Parkway would be to reach the first round proper. What an achievement that would be one day ! We need to take one game at a time and the winners this Saturday are then faced with an away game at either Cadbury Heath or Team Solent. Lets hope its us and we can look forward to another outing to pastures new.

The squad is currently being utilised to its maximum with injuries, suspensions and holidays but all the lads that have played have been outstanding no matter what role they have been asked to do.. We welcomed back in midweek Danny Lewis and Mark Berry and this Saturday we are pleased to have back both central defenders John Heveran and Gav Coulton. We travel to Bridgwater with a full squad to choose from for probably the first time this season. There are always a couple of niggling injuries etc and we shall assess them before announcing the team on Saturday.

I am sure this will be a very good game with two very good sides going head to head.. Bridgwater have a nice pitch which is very large and similar to ours from what I can remember on my last visit there as a player so I am sure it will be a good open game of football.

Hope you can all join us for a good day out and cheer on the lads.
