Match Preview | Plymouth Parkway

Friday Night Under Lights

Tonight PPFC make the short journey across the Tamar into Cornwall to face Torpoint Athletic.

As with all local derbies this will once again be a real tough fixture for the team as it has has proved to be over the last few seasons. Tonight will be no exception with Torpoint in confident mood after Saturdays FA Vase win and with several ex Parkway players in their squad they will certainly be looking forward to this game. We also anticipate a large crowd this evening which should produce a nice atmosphere and hopefully a terrific evenings football.

We go into the game in confident mood ourselves with back to back 3 – 0 victories last week so are also looking forward to this latest test knowing that victory this evening could move us up into fourth place ahead of Saturdays’ fixtures. The squad is looking strong despite some notable absentees.

John Heveran long term knee injury along with Jordan Trott and last week Mike Smith limped off with a sore hamstring so is also doubtful.

We have however welcomed former Plymouth Argyle midfielder Jake Miller into the squad.

Jake made his debut at Helston last Saturday with an excellent performance so we look forward to seeing more of him in the coming weeks. On another positive note flying full back Luke Rundle also had a excellent first start to the season at Helston as he continues to make steady progress to full fitness.

Look forward to seeing you all this evening. COYY
