Veale is a YellowBy Jack Hobbs
We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Jack Veale from Cardiff Metropolitan.
The 22 -year-old defender joins after a strong season in the Cymru Premier, scoring one goal and contributing to eight clean sheets in 36 appearances.
Speaking on joining Plymouth Parkway, Veale said: “I’m pleased to be joining. It’s been a few weeks in the making, so I’m buzzing to get it over the line.
“I spoke to Macca, and he talked to me about the project we have going on here and about building a really great group of lads.
“I liked the project; I’ve worked with Macca before (at Exeter City) which is a plus and I like the set up here so I’m buzzing.”
Speaking on securing Veale’s signature, Parkway manager Chris McPhee said: “We’re really pleased to have signed Jack this summer.”
“Jack is someone who has real character and a robustness on the pitch. He is the right personality to add to the great group of men we currently have.
“He is a physical and competitive defender who can play in a variety of positions in the back line and his composure on the ball will help us build from the back in a multitude of ways. He also has a long throw which is a welcome addition to any team.
“Jack has an academy background, coming through the Exeter City academy where I worked with him for 4 years, he captained the under 18s, and was a young pro at the club before heading to Wales to attend university.
“He has played plenty of men’s football and has showed huge progression in recent seasons on and off the pitch. He has also represented Welsh universities on several occasions.
“Jack is calm on the ball and has an eye for a pass, has good technical abilities, and has experience playing the style of football we play. He is still young, and we know we can help him become an even better player.
“Bringing in Jack is again, signing someone who will definitely strengthen our squad and will bring healthy competition for places.”
Club Chairman Mark Russell added:” Jack is a player that Chris knows very well from his Exeter academy days.”
“During this time, he had loans with Poole Town, Willand Rovers and Taunton Town before moving to university.
“I am excited to see Jack play for Parkway and I am sure he will go on to be a strong addition to the team.”
Everyone at Parkway would like to welcome Jack to the club, and we look forward to seeing him at the heart of our defence this season.
