Plymouth Parkway embarks on another hectic schedule this week with trips to Poole Town and Hanwell Town, before returning home to PL5 to face Walton & Hersham on Saturday. Along with the busy week, Parkway now occupies a relegation place following a difficult weekend in Didcot.

At one stage last Saturday, Parkway looked to be on course for an invaluable three points against the Railwaymen after racing into a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Reece Thomson & Dylan Jones. However, after Cameron Sangster missed a penalty, Didcot rallied to level the game and struck a final blow with a penalty of their own in the final five minutes, sinking Parkway to their third consecutive defeat.

In what has been a challenging schedule over the last few weeks, Lee Hobbs’ men must once again prepare for what will be another very difficult week against teams also in need of points. Tonight, Parkway travels to Black Gold Stadium to face 13th placed Poole Town, who will look to make home advantage count and move over the 50-point mark.

The two teams met on Easter Monday, with Parkway’s Dylan Jones grabbing the all-important goal to keep the points at Bolitho. However, Poole Town showed their qualities and will feel unfortunate they didn’t earn a draw on the day.

They will look to put that right this evening and continue a mini-run of form which has seen them pick up maximum points from their previous two games. Inspired by Tobias Holmes, the Dolphins, in front of their home faithful, picked up three points against Winchester City before repeating the trick against Beaconsfield Town with a 3-0 win. They will no doubt be in a positive mood to make it a hat-trick of wins against Parkway this evening.

Whatever happens this evening, it will be a late night back to Plymouth and no time to rest before the squad embarks on a trip to London on Thursday evening to face Hanwell Town.

The London Geordies also occupy a relegation spot and sit one place below Parkway, level on points but having played three games more. With a huge number of miles clocked up on the road, Parkway will then eye a return to Bolitho for the first time since Easter Monday to face one of the standout teams of the season in Walton & Hersham.
