Parkway Fixture List 2021/22

A new era begins…

The Southern League fixture list has been released ahead of the 2021/22 campaign and Parkway’s first foray into Step 4 football.

Earlier in the week, Parkway found out that Highworth Town would be the first opponents in the FA Trophy as Parkway make the trip to the Elms Recreation Ground on August 9th.  The Yellows will also be in cup action mid-August as the FA Cup qualifying rounds begin. Parkway will travel to either Mousehole or Helston Athletic for the preliminary fixture with the fixture scheduled for August 21st.

So, what about the Southern League? Parkway will begin their step 4 campaign with a trip to the Testwood Stadium to face A.F.C Totton on August 14th. Three days later, The Yellows begin their home league campaign as Frome Town make the trip to Plymouth.

The Western League gave us Devon derbies including Buckland Athletic, Exmouth and Tavistock. Moving up a division will see rivalries renewed with Barnstaple, Bideford, and Willand Rovers.

Willand Rovers enjoyed Western League success by lifting the 2018/19 league title, pipping Parkway to the post by two points and the last time the two sides met, Mikey Williams nabbed the winner as Parkway lifted the Les Phillips Cup in 2019. Willand manager Russell Jee and Parkway boss Lee Hobbs will again go up against each other in league action and Bolitho Park will play host to Rovers on August 30th. Boxing day will see Silver Street host the Christmas Devon Derby fixture.

Our last meeting with Barnstaple would be at Coach Road as Parkway prevailed in the final of the Devon St Luke’s Bowl (County Cup) at the end of the 2017/18 season. Parkway play host to Barnstable on January 1st. The reverse fixture at Mill Road will take place on the penultimate day of the season (April 18th)

Bideford travelled to Bolitho Park for our last Devon derby encounter in a Devon St. Luke’s Bowl during the 2018/19 season. Bolitho witnessed a cup classic as Aaron Bentley grabbed a late winner as the fixture ended 4-3. The Robins boss Sean Joyce will again be at the helm for Bideford and will bring his players to Bolitho Park on September 14th. Lee Hobbs and the squad will travel to The Sports ground on January 8th.

August will also see an away trip to Cossham Street as Mangotsfield United play host on August 28th

September begins with the visit of Bideford which is followed by potential cup competitions. Parkway end September by travelling to The Creek on September 28th to face Bristol Manor Farm

October will see back-to-back away trips to Melksham Town and Evesham United before we play host to Larkhall Athletic on October 30th.

November begins with a home fixture against Cirencester on November 6th before two away trips to Cirencester and Frome Town.

The Christmas season includes a home fixture against Slimbridge on December 18th which is followed by the Boxing Day fixture at Silver Street,

2022 will begin with two more Devon derbies with Barnstaple home on January 1st before a trip to the Sports Ground on January 8th.

February will see us again travel to Highworth Town who we face in the FA Trophy. That will be followed by two home fixtures as Melksham Town and Evesham Town travel to Devon. The business end of the season see’s March throw up fixtures against Sholing, Winchester City and Slimbridge.

The League run in begins with a home fixture against Lymington and The Yellows will also be at home for the Easter fixture as Mangotsfield United visit Bolitho Park which is followed by a trip to Mill Road and Barnstaple on Easter Monday. The league campaign will finish at Bolitho Park as Cinderford complete the 2021/22 fixture schedule on April 23rd.
