Plymouth Argyle offer support during a difficult period for Plymouth Parkway

Amidst continued forecasts of intermittent rain throughout the week, Plymouth Parkway is pleased to confirm that Thursday’s scheduled home fixture against Winchester City will proceed in Plymouth, now relocated to Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park Stadium.

Recognising the significant challenge facing the football club, with 16 remaining games to be played by the end of the season on April 27, the Plymouth Parkway board expresses thanks to all at Plymouth Argyle for their invaluable assistance during this unprecedented period, and for their cooperation in granting access to the impressive Home Park venue.

Despite tireless efforts from ground staff and volunteers, ongoing maintenance work at Bolitho Park remains hampered by the persistent daily rainfall engulfing the city.

The move to Home Park presents an eagerly awaited opportunity for Plymouth Parkway supporters and the wider Plymouth community to witness their team play within the city limits for the first time since January 30, when they faced a 1-0 defeat against Beaconsfield Town.

Expressing his delight at the arrangement, Mark Russell, Chairman of Plymouth Parkway remarked, “This exemplifies the community spirit embodied by Plymouth Argyle, a sentiment that resonates deeply with everyone at Parkway. Over the past months, there have been many sleepless nights, and we are immensely grateful to Plymouth Argyle for extending their support. We encourage the Plymouth public to flock to Home Park in large numbers not only to witness a rescheduled fixture but also to support us in a crucial match as we aim to climb the  Southern Premier League South table.”

Thursday night will see the spotlight shine on Home Park as Parkway prepare to tackle Winchester City at the iconic Theatre of Greens. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45 pm, with the Mayflower Stand being the sole stand open for spectators and will open from 6:45 pm onwards. The bar and food outlets will be operational, and in an added gesture of appreciation, Argyle Season ticket holders can gain entry for just £5.

Parkway’s Head of Media, Mike Parrish, remarked, “Plymouth Argyle has gone above and beyond to support Parkway during this challenging period for our club. It will be a memorable evening for all associated with Parkway, and facing Winchester City adds an extra dimension to the occasion. Over the years, a healthy rivalry has developed between the two clubs, and I join the chairman in urging the Plymouth public to join our loyal Parkway supporters in large numbers to rally behind the Yellows and provide them with a boost ahead of a grueling fixture schedule.”
