Parkway set for Charity Day at Bolitho Park

Plymouth Parkway will be hosting a charity day this Sunday (28/04/24) to commemorate former Plymouth Parkway youth coach Mike Honeywill, who sadly passed away earlier this season, and to raise funds for the charity Mind.

The day will feature two charity matches, a raffle, live sports on the Full Time Club House big screens, hot and cold refreshments, and evening entertainment.

Gates will open at 11:30 am, and Plymouth Parkway kindly requests attendees to make a charitable donation upon arrival. Mind is a charity that aims to prioritize mental health in everyday life across England and Wales, advocating for change in healthcare, work environments, and legal systems to support those with mental health challenges.

If you can’t attend the day, but would like to contribute, a GoFundMe page has been set up and can be found HERE

The highlight of the day will be two matches held in the afternoon. The first match, starting at 1 pm, will feature an historic Kitto Falcons side managed by John Williams, comprising players who have gone on to play for clubs like Plymouth Argyle, Norwich City, Yeovil Town, and Plymouth Parkway, competing against a team of local footballers.

The second match, starting at 3 pm, will involve youth team managers who were close to Mike Honeywill, facing off against Millbridge Vets in what promises to be an entertaining game.

Throughout the afternoon, the football club will be fully operational, with the weather forecast looking favorable. Parkway staff and volunteers will be available, with the food outlet van and full-time clubhouse open, showcasing live Premier League football matches including Spurs vs. Arsenal and Nottingham Forest vs. Manchester City.

Following the two matches, a raffle will take place, and the day will conclude with the fantastic Jersey Jukebox providing evening entertainment.

Thank you in advance, and we look forward to seeing you at Bolitho Park this Sunday.
