Parkway Welcome Saltash

Well it seems like a very long time ago that we played Cullompton and what a superb result and performance it was. I thought we were excellent from start to finish scoring 6 goals in the process which hopefully sent all the Yellow Army home happy with a feeling that it was a fiver well spent, hopefully we can do again today.

We welcome title challengers Saltash United to Bolitho Park today, where we will be looking to reverse the 3-2 result In my 1st game 3 weeks ago.  They are having a cracking season so far and credit must go to the manager Matty Cusack who seems to have instilled a belief in his players that has been lacking in previous seasons that they can go all the way, but myself and my players will be doing everything we can to make sure they don’t get 3 points today.

On a sadder note, it’s with regret that we’re going to be losing the services of fans favourite Mike Smith, who has took up the opportunity to join the Royal Navy.  As a club we wish Mike all the best and hope to see him in a yellow jersey again next season.

Since our last game the lads have had no days off, even though we have had no games, we have been doing doing double weekly sessions with 1 on the training ground and 1 with a local personal trainer who has been running them into the ground and it as also allowed us to create a bit of team spirit which was lacking a bit under the previous regime, so we’re fit looking sharp and are ready to go this afternoon.

Just a quick word on our pre season schedule I’ve been working hard on getting attractive friendlies and using my contacts within the game and I’m pleased to announce on Saturday 8 July Plymouth Argyle FC will be bringing there full 1st team to Bolitho Park for the 1st time in many a year so keep your diaries free for that date which I’m sure will be a fantastic occasion for the club and hopefully there 1st friendly as a League 1 Club.  I am sure that if we look after them like I know we will it could turn into an annual fixture for us.  More announcements are coming soon regarding pre season but rest assured it’s going be an exciting one.

One last note from me is I’d like to welcome Connor Rush to Bolitho Park, Connor joins us from Willand Rovers and is a very good young striker and I’m sure he can step in to the the boots vacated by Mike Smith.

Enjoy the game.
