Plymouth Parkway partner with Arterne to strengthen community and wellbeing support

By Mike Parrish

Plymouth Parkway is delighted to announce a new partnership with Arterne, supporting the club’s continued development of its community work and creating new opportunities to promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the Parkway community.

Arterne will become the official partner of Parkway’s Match day Youth Experience, supporting initiatives designed to give young supporters a greater connection with the football club and make match days at Bolitho Park a memorable experience for the next generation.

The partnership will also open a wider conversation around mental health, wellbeing and the importance of making it easier for people to ask for help when they need it.

Arterne is a not-for-profit organisation supporting people to feel well, confident and capable across their work, families and communities. The organisation works across education, health and social care, with its approach built around Cindy Willcocks’ L.O.V.E Leadership model.

Cindy is a registered mental health nurse and trauma trained, with a background in child and adolescent mental health across the NHS and voluntary community sector.

Her belief is that football provides a natural way to bring people together, create a sense of belonging and help make difficult conversations easier.

Cindy brings significant experience and recognition within nursing and mental health. A registered mental health nurse and trauma-trained professional, she was named among the UK Top 10 finalists for the Nursing Times Florence Nightingale Nurse of the Year Award in 2020 and awarded the Queen’s Nurse title in 2023. More recently, Arterne received the Burdett Trust for Nursing Neighbourhood Community Award in June 2026 for its nurse-led suicide prevention work, while Cindy was awarded the Chief Nursing Officer’s Gold Award for Social Care Nursing in July 2026.

The partnership therefore goes beyond the Match day Youth Experience. It is about creating greater awareness around mental health and wellbeing and ensuring the Parkway community knows that support and a listening ear are available.

Support is available.

If any Parkway supporter or member of the wider community is struggling with their mental health, or simply feels that talking to someone could help, Cindy and the Arterne team are here to listen.

Arterne can also provide further support and help people find the right avenues for them.

Cindy has also become an increasingly familiar face around Bolitho Park, developing a strong connection with the club, its supporters and the wider Parkway community.

Plymouth Parkway is proud to welcome Arterne into the Parkway community and looks forward to developing the Match day Youth Experience while continuing to create a football club where people feel welcome, connected and supported.
