Plymouth Parkway Announce Partnership with Plymouth Marjon University
By Plymouth Parkway FC
PLYMOUTH, UK – May 6, 2026 – Plymouth Parkway are pleased to announce a new partnership with Plymouth Marjon University which will see students supply the club’s media content for the coming season.
The partnership will help students from the university’s journalism course gain matchday experience at Bolitho Park, learning to produce high-level content covering all aspects of media output on a matchday.
It marks a step forward for both the club and the university, giving students the chance to work in a real football environment while contributing to Parkway’s ever-growing media output.
There is already a strong link between the two. Head of Operations Mike Parrish first became involved with the club during his time as a student at Plymouth Marjon University, where he was taught by Sports Journalism Programme Leader Mike Baker.
Speaking on the partnership, Parrish said: “This is a wonderful club, and a brilliant base for students to really get a feel for the type of media work that goes on around a football club. For both myself and Mike Baker, we’re really excited about the opportunities this creates for students to come in, take ownership of content, and work in front of a big audience.”
Mike Baker also welcomed the partnership, highlighting the benefit for students: “It’s such a good opportunity for our students to put into practice what they learn in the classroom, in such a professional environment, and at our ‘local’ club. Bolitho Park is a really exciting place to be at the moment, so we’re hoping we can provide the content to match the team’s ambition.
“It’s also really nice that they will be learning alongside one of their own; knowing they can follow in the footsteps of Mike, and learn so much from him, is a real source of inspiration for them. It’s going to be a great season!”
Plymouth Parkway have developed a strong presence in non-league media in recent years, including the ‘Round Our Way’ documentary series, and the partnership will allow students to play a part in the club’s content moving forward.
First year Sports Journalism student Mark Parsons said: “I’m really looking forward to working with Parkway next season. It’s a great chance to build experience around a club that’s pushing forward.”
First-team coach Stuart Dudley, who guided Parkway to safety last term, also welcomed the partnership. “It’s important for us to stay connected with the local community, and this is a great way of doing that. It also helps us grow what we’re doing off the pitch and reach more people.”
Work is already under way to prepare students for the new season, with plans in place to introduce them to the matchday setup at Bolitho Park ahead of the first fixture of the new season.
