Local lad Trades in Tiger Stripes for Parkway Pride

By Mike Parrish

In a thrilling turn of events for Plymouth Parkway, the club is ecstatic to announce the homecoming of Plymothian footballer Shane White.

After his departure from Truro City, White is set to make an immediate impact in the yellow and blue and goes straight into the squad ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Frome Town.

Lee Hobbs, Parkway’s manager, has long coveted the versatile skills and experience that Shane White brings to the table. White, with a remarkable 250 appearances for Truro City, has etched his name into the folklore of the White Tigers. His move to his hometown club has been much-anticipated, and it’s fair to say that Hobbs finally got his man.

Lee Shares: “Shane White is exactly the type of player our team needs in terms of experience, character, pitch personality he’s a proper winner and I like winners. I’ve tried to sign Shane a couple times before, but the timing wasn’t quite right for him but now he’s finally in the building I’m absolutely over the moon.

Supporters can expect a real honest player who gives the absolute maximum to the team every game he plays in whatever position he plays. He will bring versatility to the squad. His appetite for the game at 32 is still as intense as it was when he was half that age, so we’re really pleased he’s finally made the switch to Bolitho to become a Plymouth Parkway player.”

White’s versatility is bound to be a game-changer for Parkway. His ability to slot seamlessly into any position across the back four or midfield provides tactical flexibility that any manager dreams of. Moreover, his experience is invaluable, especially when nurturing and mentoring younger talents within the squad.

Parkway Vice-Chairman Gez Baggott, clearly elated with Shane’s arrival, emphasized how White perfectly fits the current needs of Plymouth Parkway. His wealth of experience at this level and beyond is poised to be a guiding light for the emerging talents within the team. Baggott and the board made no hesitation in giving their full backing to this signing, knowing it’s a move that could define the club’s season.

As White prepares to embark on this new chapter of his career, the club wishes him every success in the Yellow of Parkway
