8 - Plymouth Parkway

5 - Tamerton

After a fine start to the season, Parkway approached the game with a fast paced and high energy start which quickly paid dividends. Jacob would hit a fine strike that nestled into the back of the net but, with what was later to be seen as a repeating pattern for much of the first half, Tamerton equalised immediately afterwards to make it 1-1

Parkway would miss three guilt edge chances following the equaliser as Tamerton made them pay and take the lead for the first time. Jacob would hit his second of the game and bring the scores level yet again.

The game was now wide open with both attacks on top as Tamerton restored the lead despite the attempt from Parkway’s Number 1 Jack as a Tamerton free kick found the top corner. Minutes later it was 3-3 as Evan hit the net for the first time as he timed his run superbly to connect with a wonderful cross from Riley.

With parents and fans on tip toes as the drama was beginning to grow and the drama would keep building as Tamerton took the lead just before half time only for Kit to keep his composure and level before the half time whistle as all in attendance needed a breather.

Parkway looked the more composed of the two teams after the break and for the first time in the game they managed to move two goals clear. Jacob would complete his hat-trick and Kit would find his second, but the drama would not be over there.

Tamerton’s heads did not drop, and they were soon back in the game as the score moved to 6-5 but that’s as close as they would get. Evan would finish off a lovely one touch move to make it 7-5 and Alfie finished off the scoring with another fine strike from outside the box to make it 8-5. And breathe…

A wonderful game and a great advert for Youth football as both teams played their part. The win keeps Parkway’s unbeaten start the season intact as hat-trick hero Jacob would walk away with the player of the match award.

3 - Plymouth Parkway

3 - Kelliwick

Parkway were sporting a brand-new kit and got off to the best of starts to the game.
After a period of sustained pressure, the irrepressible Elijah opened the scoring with a quick snapshot on his left foot.

A short while later it was 2-0, Elijah again with another fine finish on his left foot. Parkway started the game with a decent tempo and we’re passing the ball nicely and deservedly found themselves in front. The back line of Parkway was rarely tested in the first half, with Jack, Henry and a new position for Louie doing well to keep Kelliwik at bay.

Kelliwik were defending well, and Parkway never really made the most of the possession they had, rarely troubling the keeper. The impressive Semas was seeing lots of the ball and knitting the team together nicely. Shortly before half time he picked the ball up in midfield, jinked past a couple of defenders before dispatching in the far corner of the goal to make it 3-0.

HT 3-0 and nothing more than Parkway deserved.

The second half was a different encounter. Complacency appeared to set in and a lack of urgency and Kelliwik found themselves reducing the deficit very quickly. 3-1 was soon 3-2 with another breakaway goal. Parkway still had chances, an Isaac free kick rattled the crossbar and it looked as if the rebound was going to go in, but it wasn’t to be.

After several magnificent corner deliveries from Semas and Jake, parkway was unable to make the most of them, failing to connect each time. Late into the game it became 3-3, another breakaway goal where Parkway found themselves short on numbers at the back and Kelliwik forward finished well. By the end of the game, stand in GK Danon kept park way in the game, saving well on two occasions to keep the score at 3-3. Teddy nearly got a goal late on for Parkway, but his two strikes, which were executed with fine technique were well blocked again by the resilient Kelliwik defence.

3-3 the final score, and lots as always to take away from the game and for the team to learn from.
MOM went to Semas, who continued his fine form with a goal and a dominant central midfield display. He is so comfortable on the football and makes excellent decisions that benefit the team

0 - Plymstock

“Speechless, proud, buzzing, fantastic and amazing” these were the words of manager Joe Pulley after his team dismantled a very good Plymstock side. Joe would go on to state “The boys’ attitudes have been nothing but professional over the last couple of weeks, this paid off today and the display we put in today goes to show what can be achieved.”

The game would start with Parkway on the front foot as they began to work their opponents out. A sense of playing for one another could be seen as encouragement played a big part in the opening minutes.

It would be king who deservedly opened the scoring from distance in the opening 10 minutes after a superb start. The free kick would see Birthday Boy King celebrate in style with his teammates. After a few half chances for the strike partnership of Rome and Connor it would finally come good for Rome after he found the net following a delicious through by from playmaker Lucas in midfield.

The game would stay at 2-0 until the second half as Parkway moved into a different gear. A host of subs were bought on and the changes had an immediate impact. Rome would hit his second of the game and Dennis made the game safe after a sublime turn and finish as the Yellows looked unplayable.

Rome’s fine start to the season continued as he found the net again to complete his hat-trick and his strike partner Connor made it 5 and added a 6th after fine work from Dennis would leave Connor with an open goal.It would be 7th heaven before the final whistle after a superb individual goal from Connor would see him complete his hat-trick. The striker would produce a mazy run as he danced past defenders and hit an audacious effort close to the by-line that rippled the net and capped off a fine afternoon for the squad.

10 - Plymouth Parkway

2 - Goals Soccer School

Parkway would head into the game sitting in 3rd position, 5 points behind Goals and a game in hand, in what would be a huge battle for three points in an early season top of the table clash.

The game started at a slow pace, and it took 6 mins before both teams had any chances. It would be Parkway who forged the first few chances was Parkway as Laiton Willsher’s effort narrowly went wide. Two minutes later, Parkway struck again this time with a shot from Jayden Tranter going just over the crossbar. Moments later, Goals would almost take the lead against the run of play as the away side broke through but with a great sliding tackle from Gideon Headlam stopping the dangerous attack.

Goals then broke again, and Parkway rode their luck again as a fine effort would rattle the crossbar and fly over. Parkway then broke away again with Leo Orford’s effort would be saved well by the Goals Keeper.

Chances would become frequent for Parkway when Jayden Tranter and Laiton Willsher both hitting shots wide but on 19 minute’s Goals would break the deadlock as they caught the Parkway defence napping and broke away and slotted the ball past Tye Roberts who was unlucky not to get a hand to it.

Despite going a goal down, Parkway would respond like title challengers and two minutes later, Lohan Rice would fire an effort on target and leave the keeper bamboozled and level up the score as the two sides went into the break level.

It took Parkway just 2 minutes following the restart to take the lead. Parkway’s talisman Jayden Tranter would hit a superb effort that would send the keeper the wrong way as Parkway took the lead for the first time. Moment later Laiton Willsher hit the ball sweetly past the keeper to make it 3-1 and the magical patch would continue as Charlie Isaac volleyed the ball home with a lot of power about 30 yards out to the right of the keeper leaving him no chance of stopping it. Parkway were now in full control and enjoying themselves and Alfie Chambers hit the ball high from over 30 yards out lobbing the keeper to increase Parkway’s lead. 4 minutes later Goals pulled 1 back when Parkway were caught napping again, but Parkway weren`t going to let that ruin their day and they scored again in the 62nd minute this time through a well taken shot by Max Brockman sending the Keeper the wrong way.

Parkway pushed on again and in the 65th minute Leo Orford lobbed the keeper and Alfie Chambers picked up his 2nd of the game moments later.

Ernie Scott would get on the scoresheet after he got on the end of an Alfie Chambers throw in to make it 9-2 and the day was wrapped up in the 69th minute when Frankie Paolantonio hit a shot from 25 yards to score the final goal of the game.

0 - SB Oak Villa

3 - Plymouth Parkway

Parkway continued their strong start to the season with another dominant display away against SB oak villa. The pitch suited parkways footballing style and they started well with a couple a decent chances saved by the SB keeper.

It took 25 mins before parkway finally opened their account, when some good quick passing in the middle set Fin Clarke away on the right, he cut inside onto his left to fire into the bottom left corner giving the keeper no chance. This seemed to settle the nerves of parkway who continued to play free flowing football and 5 mins before half time, Shay McCarthys parried shot fell to the feet of Parkway striker Shay Millen to tap into the open goal. 2-0 up from a dominant half that saw parkways defence rarely troubled.

Half time Parkway made 5 changes introducing all of the subs, the game continued in the same vein with SB rarely venturing out of their own half, but they did produce a fine last ditch tackle from Jackson McManis after springing the offside trap.

65mins in and Parkway made the final breakthrough after a good run of play down the right from Ollie Pascoe saw his cross cleared to the on rushing Jackson Fallon who struck a half volley from 20 yards into the bottom corner to score the pick of the goals and give the keeper no chance.

Totally dominant performance and another clean sheet for the solid defence.

14 - Plymouth Parkway

A formidable display saw the U18s return to winning ways after last week’s disappointing result against Chaddlewood Miners.

From the first whistle, Parkway shifted the ball quickly and completely dominated possession throughout the 90 mins. Dylan Jones (6), Charlie Castlehouse (3), Jacob Smith (1), Noah Maund (1), Callum Bleasdale (1), Darren Gopaul (1) and skipper Jamie Ball (1) completed the goal scorers list, all adding to the team’s staggering goal tally of 53 goals scored from just 6 games.

It would be a big victory, not only in terms of goals but for confidence as they go into next month’s crucial return fixture vs. Chaddlewood Miners. This could prove to be a real tasty encounter as they currently sit second in the table, 6 points behind Parkway, with two games in hand.
