The Yellows had been the better team for large spells of the game but failed to capitalise on their dominance and were made to pay the price just five minutes from time.
Chris McPhee made three changes to the side that earned a 1-1 draw away at Basingstoke Town, with Max Edgecombe, Jack Veale, and Ferran Simons coming in to replace Ryan Brett, Taylor Scarff, and Will Sullivan.
It was the away side who started on the front foot with Antonio Diaz forcing an early chance, heading an effort wide of the near post from a long throw into the box.
Without the experienced and assured heads of Brett and Scarff at the back, Parkway seemed nervous and failed to really settle into the game until the 15th minute mark.

Rio Garside won back possession high in Poole’s half and sent James Watts-Barciela off down the right wing. The Winger found Cruis Nyadzayo in space, but the striker’s effort was deflected behind for a corner.
Parkway’s confidence continued to grow, and they nearly took the lead in spectacular fashion.
Going from back to front, Veale found Nyadzayo in space in Poole’s half. The forward flicked the ball over to Watts-Barciela who in turn found Callum Hall down the right wing.
Hall then whipped a cross into the back stick, which was met by Simons, but the midfielder headed just wide of the post.
Despite Parkway’s dominance, a mix up at the back could have seen the hosts enter the break behind. Diaz was gifted the opportunity to tap the ball past Mack Allan, but some strong defending from Parkway kept Poole at bay.
Again, Poole started the second half the sharper of the two side with Billy Lowes heading over Charlie Davis’ corner kick in the 48th minute.

Parkway should have then opened the scoring through Nyadzayo who sent a right footed effort agonizingly wide of the far-left corner when the net seemed destined to ripple.
With The Yellows spurning another great chance, Poole, sensing a chance, turned up the pressure forcing Allan in to two fantastic saves to keep Parkway in the game.
Despite his heroic efforts, Poole broke Bolitho hearts when Staunton rose high from a corner and headed powerfully home to make it 0-1 with five minutes to play.
