The game started at a lively tempo with the visitor’s James Dobson cutting in from the right and creating a shooting chance on 2 minutes which was well saved by Adam Parkes.

Parkway responded with their first chance on 4 minutes with Jones turning his defender inside the 18 yard area and firing in a drive which smacked against the outside of the post and behind for a goal kick. Play continued at an intense pace with little to choose between the sides but it was the visitors who took the lead on 15 minutes.

Callum Rose failed to clear his lines from close to the bye line and turning back inside was robbed by Ada Okorogheye who squared to the unmarked Joel Rollinson who had the simple task of side footing home into an unguarded net from around 12 yards.

Beaconsfield continued to look the more dangerous side with Parkway unable to get a foothold in midfield being forced into errors and conceding possession too easily.

On 18 minutes the visitors thought they had doubled their lead with the strong running Okorogheye feeding Rollinson who slotted home with the goal being ruled out for offside.

Parkway gradually began to get some forward momentum and on 22 minutes a cross from left found Jones whose mishit shot lacked power or precision and was comfortably saved by Matt Rowley.

On 25 minutes a Parkway free kick on the left from Ryan Lane saw Wright rise highest with his header going straight at Rowley who saved well. On 29 minutes the dangerous Okorogheye again fed Rollinson whose shot was well saved by Parkes who was called into action shortly after, this time saving from Okorogheye.

Parkway gradually began to come more into the game applying pressure and on 32 minutes good build up play along the left saw Jones go clear but just being beaten to the through ball inside the 18 yard box by the onrushing Rowley.

Parkway were now having their best period of the game and on 33 minutes Jones did well to win the ball in his own half, stride forward deep into the opposition half and link with Rio Garside whose cross was met by Tom Purrington whose shot from around 20 yards was comfortably saved by Rowley.

Parkway continued to press and on 37 minutes another free kick found Garside whose right footed shot from distance was easily gathered by Rowley. Despite Parkway now having the majority of possession and building patiently from midfield, the hosts continued to look strong defensively with Parkway unable to create many chances and being restricted mainly to long range efforts rarely troubling Rowley.

On 42 minutes a member of the Beaconsfield coaching  staff was shown a yellow card for his protestations with the final action of the half seeing another long range effort from Purrington well saved low down by Rowley

After conceding the early goal Parkway took a while to get into the game with Beaconsfield looking the more threatening. Parkway improved as the half progressed but were unable to penetrate a solid and well organised Beaconsfield defence or create any clear chances.

Parkway started the second half sharply with the visitors clearly set up to defend deep, narrow and in numbers and looking to play on the counter with the impressive Okorogheye as their sole attacking outlet.

On 52 minutes good link up play along the right between Shane White and Cameron Sangster forced a corner with the delivery lacking quality and easily cleared. Beaconsfield then broke quickly with Okorogheye getting in behind the Parkway back line with Rose making a last ditch block tackle to concede a corner which was easily cleared.

With Parkway now dominating possession and forcing the pace with the visitors defending in numbers, on 55 minutes Garside, Wright and Purrington linked well along the right with Rowley doing well to gather the cross which again lacked quality or precision.

On 56 minutes Parkway made a double change with Thomson and Crago replacing Wright and Jones up front. Parkway continued to press but the visitors held firm at the back with Parkway still working hard but unable to provide guile or invention to penetrate in the final third.

Beaconsfield continued to close down quickly in midfield forcing Parkway errors and to concede possession too easily. On 61 minutes Parkway won a free kick deep in their own half with Rose seeing yellow after words from his assistant to the referee for an off the ball incident after the free kick had been awarded.

Parkway continued in the ascendancy possession wise and work hard to look for an opening but were still unable to create any clear chances with Rowley dealing comfortably with a series of poorly directed crosses. On 65 minutes Crago saw yellow for a foul as play intensified with Beaconsfield looking solid and compact at the back despite Parkway controlling possession and territory.

Okorogheye continued to look threatening whenever Beaconsfield broke forward but was an isolated figure up front as the visitors stuck rigidly to their game plan which continued to frustrate Parkway.

On 70 minutes Cairo replaced Sangster for their final change and continued to press forward but were still unable to breach the visitor’s solid back line. On 72 minutes Thomson and Garside linked centrally just outside the 18 yard but again the final ball lacked quality running behind for a goal kick.

On 73 minutes Jacques Kpohomouh was cautioned for a foul as Parkway increased the pressure with the visitors content to contain but struggling to get out of the final third but still denying Parkway a breakthrough.

On 81 minutes the visitor’s Luke Neville required lengthy treatment after an accidental clash of heads. On resumption of play Parkway continued to apply pressure but were still unable to unduly test Rowley.

Entering the final 10 minutes Parkway continued to search for an equaliser but rarely looked like doing so with Beaconsfield holding firm with their determined and organised defending. They made their one and only change on 88 minutes with goalscorer Rollinson being replaced by Dan Bradshaw.

In the 6 minutes of added time Parkway continued to push and probe looking to create that elusive opening which they were unable to do with the final action seeing a Williams volley fly way off target which just about summed up Parkway’s evening.

After conceding a sloppy early goal, Parkway worked their way back into the game. They dominated possession in the second half and competed well but were unable to create any clear cut chances with the defeat bringing their 9 match unbeaten run to an end. Credit should go to a well organised and determined Beaconsfield who deservedly won the game by executing their game plan to perfection by defending solidly throughout with Parkway lacking the necessary quality or penetration in the final third at crucial times.

Parkway remain in 14th place but now only on goal difference from Beaconsfield but with 5 games in hand over them. Parkway now have time to reflect, recover and look to react positively before returning to Bolitho Park on Saturday to face 21st placed Harrow Borough in what will be the 1st of 4 home games out of the next 5.

They will  need to capitalise on these and also look to break the run of 2 successive games without scoring.
