Billy Palfrey agrees contract at Bolitho Park
Following yesterday’s announcement that Ryan Lane has signed a contract extension, we are delighted to announce that Billy Palfrey has signed his first contract with the club as the midfielder commits to Parkway.
Billy first joined Parkway on loan from Truro City during the 2018/19 season and played a pivotal role in Parkway finishing second in their first Toolstation Western League season. The midfielder would sign full time for the club ahead of the 2019/20 season and has established himself at the heart of midfield.
The midfielder has enjoyed arguably his best campaign to date which is echoed by vice-chairman Gez Baggott: “Billy has been brilliant for us this season, just like he has since he walked through the gates at Bolitho. Billy has produced some special moments this year, but his overall game is what has impressed the management & board and we are delighted to get his signature.”
The hard work Billy has given to Parkway has been rewarded and a delighted Lee Hobbs can look forward to managing Billy for the foreseeable future.
He said, “This is another big step for the club. Billy’s high level of consistency in his performances over the last couple of seasons are what made the football club and myself identify that he has earned the right to be offered a contract as reward for the service he has given us.
I always say to my players you do right by me, and I’ll do right by you so along with Laney (Ryan Lane) both are now fully committed to Plymouth Parkway.”
Lee adds, “With both Ryan and Billy under 24 years old, I can only see more good times to come with the pair nowhere near their prime.
A delighted Billy Palfrey commented: “I’m buzzing to of signed. there’s no other place I want to be right now, this club is a great place to be with great people around the place.”
This news will no doubt be welcomed by the yellow faithful who have seen Billy’s progression play out in front of their eyes. This season, Billy has added goals to his battling performances and the midfielder’s strikes against Salisbury, Slimbridge and Larkhall Athletic last weekend will live long in the memory.
