Three in a row for Parkway?

Off the back of two outstanding cup wins against Didcot and Exeter City, Parkway are bidding to make further progress in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

The opponents this time around are North Leigh, who have had an entertaining start to 2022-23.

The Oxfordshire side have scored eight goals in a host of thrilling encounters so far, one of which was a 3-3 draw with Yate – Jenson Wright scored an injury time leveller to snatch a point at the end of August.

The Millers have won one so far against Hendon, but much like Parkway, can consider themselves unlucky not to have collected more points in the Southern League Premier South.

The Yellows overcame a fantastic effort from Didcot to take the win at Bolitho in the first qualifying round of the oldest cup competition in world football, before seeing off a youthful Exeter City side 7-2 in front of home support in the Devon Bowl.

The cups have been a nice detour from what has proven an incredibly unlucky league campaign, but two wins on the bounce, and a chance to make more cup progress on Saturday, are bound to instil even more hunger into Lee Hobbs’ already-determined bunch.

Past Meetings

We have never played North Leigh before, but depending on how Saturday pans out, we might have played them four times by the end of the season, with two league games on the horizon against them too.

Travel

You have a three-hour drive on your hands to get up to Witney on Saturday, travelling up the M5 towards Gloucestershire, before taking the A417, the A436 and the A40 up towards North Leigh.

Weather

It will be a slightly chillier one at around 16 Degrees Celsius in Oxfordshire, but there is very little chance of rain, and the sunshine will be doing its level best to make a strong appearance.
