Full Match Report

Parkway had started the match sharply and should have been ahead within the opening ten minutes.

James Watts-Barciela rounded the keeper and squared it for Matthew Wright on the six-yard box, but the cross was too hard, and Wright’s run too delayed meaning the ball fizzed agonisingly across an open goal.

Rio Garside then came close from a freekick, clipping the top of the cross bar with a dipping left footed effort from the left-hand side of the box just four minutes later.

Wright then spurned a similar chance on the 20-minute mark, throwing himself at a similar squared ball from Hall but again missing the ball, albeit being much closer and unlucky on that occasion.

Parkway came close again just before halftime as Tylor Love-Holmes danced past Ivybridge’s fullbacks and dragged a ball back across for Hall – the midfielder’s right footed shot was on target but didn’t generate enough power to beat Jordan Duffey.

The hosts should have been comfortably ahead in the first half, but they finally managed to capitalise on their dominance after 60 minutes when Hall tucked home a ball from Watts-Barciela outside the six-yard box to give Parkway a 1-0 lead.

Unsurprisingly Ivybridge struggled to create many chances but with Parkway spurning opportunities left, right, and centre to increase their lead, it was clear the away side were starting to sense an opportunity.

With eight minutes to go, Rio Daly wasted a huge chance after the ball feel free for him in the box, but the midfielder sliced his shot wide while attempting to find the top right corner.

Ivybridge’s late push for an equaliser were rewarded in the second minute of stoppage time when Bailey Mabin went down in the box following a challenge from Ryan Brett and the referee pointed to the spot.

Wright stepped up and smashed the ball past Morley to make it 1-1 and force a penalty shootout at Bolitho.

Parkway started the shootout strongly with Morley pulling off a strong save to deny Wright.

Carlo Garside and Taylor Scarff slotted away their spot kicks as did Ivybridge’s Mabin and Daly, until Parkway’s Michael Williams had his penalty saved by Duffey to bring the away side back into the shootout.

Both side’s continued to slot home bringing the match to sudden death where substitute Liam Manchip was the unfortunate man to miss is penalty, meaing Ivybridge ran out 7-6 victors.

Parkway’s attention will now return to the league where a tough away game against title leaders Merthyr Town awaits the Yellows on Saturday.
