Plymouth Parkway vs Hungerford Town
Southern Premier League South
Bolitho Park
Saturday 15th March
3pm Kick-off

Parkway are at Bolitho this week after a couple of weeks on the road, and this time, it’s up against Hungerford Town. They are following on from a 3-2 victory over Taunton which saw them hold on to take all three points home.

It was a great first half by The Yellows as in the 37th minute, Tylor Love-Holmes calmly put it past the keeper and made it 1-0 after receiving a great pass from Rio. Only three minutes later it was Tylor again who scored a strong header making it 2-0. Then, on the brink of half time, Callum Hall made it 3-0 after stealing the ball off the defender and finding the back of the net.

Although it was a strong lead, Plymouth knew they had a tough 45 minutes ahead of them, and that was certainly true as it ended up being a shaky end to the game. In the 54th minute, the hosts made it 3-1 through Owen Brain with a nice finish into the far post. It was relatively quiet after that but in the 83rd minute, it was 3-2 as Purrington powered the ball into the roof of the net. The lads had to hold firm for the last part of the game, but they ultimately got it done.

Parkway sit in 14th and their recent form is looking really good at the minute as in their last five they have had only one loss, one draw, and three wins, which have all been back-to-back. They are starting to find some consistent form, and there really isn’t any better time of the season to do it, as the battle to get further and further up the league. They have managed to score 11 goals in the last five so the goalscoring is looking good, however, they still need to work on the defending as they have also conceded 7.

Hungerford – who are in 7th place – are in interesting form as their last five have also resulted in one loss, one draw, and three wins, and their most recent match was a 1-0 win over 4th place Gloucester, so I’m sure their confidence is high right now. They have only managed to score six in their recent matches, and have also conceded six, so I have a feeling this match will be full of goals.

The end of the season is in sight, so let’s get behind the team and give them a push for this final stretch.
