Parkway handed another trip to Oxfordshire in the FA Cup
The latest chapter of an incredible FA Cup story will see Plymouth Parkway take on National League South side, Oxford City.
Parkway sealed a dramatic, late 3-2 victory against Didcot at Bolitho in their replayed first qualifying round match, before coming from 2-0 down to beat North Leigh last weekend.
Goals from Ben Seymour, Rio Garside, Billy Palfrey and Jared Lewington have helped the Yellows make history by reaching the third qualifying round for the first time ever.
If Lee Hobbs’ men are to make it into the final qualifying phase, they will need to travel to Marston to face an Oxford City side that made it to the second-round proper in 2020, before tasting defeat at the hands of Shrewsbury in an ill-tempered encounter.
The Hoops made it to the second round of qualifying last year before being seen off by Frome, while Parkway were beaten by Gosport Borough in the first qualifying round – both sides have made solid improvements in the last 12 months.
Coming into the competition during the second round of qualifying once again in 2022, Oxford travelled to Salisbury, and recorded a 2-1 win to climb onto the penultimate rung of the ladder before the competition proper.
Tuesday’s draw means that Parkway have faced an away trip to Oxfordshire in each of their FA Cup games so far this season.
The third qualifying rounds will take place on the weekend of the 1 and second October. Ticket and travel information will be available in due course.
