Parkway prepare to welcome Hungerford Town to Bolitho
Parkway vs Hungerford Town | Match PreviewBy Alex Haynes
Plymouth Parkway are back on home soil this Saturday as they prepare to take on Hungerford Town.
Football finally returned for the Yellows last weekend. The lads managed to secure another valuable point away from home against a good side in Gosport Borough. Despite the long layoff, Parkway were able to extend their unbeaten run to six games thanks to a brilliant strike from Jack Crago.
The Yellows would bow out of the County Cup on Wednesday evening. Despite a late Ryan Lane goal, Lee Hobbs’ side would fall to a 3-1 defeat against a well organised Willand Rovers side.
Our opponents for Saturday currently occupy fifth place – the final play-off spot. Before a 1-0 defeat to Chesham United last weekend, Hungerford were on a 14-game unbeaten run. Another tough outing awaits Parkway on Saturday, but so far this season the team have showed they can beat anyone on their day.
The Yellows were on the wrong end of a 7-0 drubbing in the reverse fixture at the beginning of the season. Matters have improved significantly since then, and the lads will be confident that they can attain a positive result this time around.
