Yate Town vs Parkway Match Preview

After so much cup action of late, league games have felt a little alien, but Parkway are back on Southern League duties on Tuesday night.

While it has not been an easy start to the league campaign for Lee Hobbs’ squad, Yate Town find themselves 22nd and last in the league at present, having lost six of their opening nine games.

The Yellows have tasted defeat in five of their first eight, so this is an encounter between two teams who are looking to kickstart some consistent league form.

Parkway are buoyed by some incredible cup efforts against National League South side Oxford City, whom they pushed through over three hours of exhilarating football before eventually bowing out at Bolitho.

They picked themselves straight back up for last weekend’s encounter with Dorchester in the FA Trophy, taking a 2-0 win through goals from Rio Garside and Jared Lewington.

Yate themselves made it through to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup, before being seen off by Bracknell Town, while Weston Super Mare knocked them out of the FA Trophy on Saturday.

They have won three cup games at home thus far this season, but are yet to register one in the league, while Parkway are yet to collect three points away. This does have a fairly big-game feel about it.

Past Meetings

We have never faced Yate before, so another opportunity beckons to start the head-to-head record with a W.

Travel

Two hours up the road from Plymouth sits the civil parish of Yate, and it is at the South West Interiors Stadium that Parkway’s 10th league game of the season will take place.

The A38 and the M5 are your two pathways to get there, with travel also available on the supporters’ coach. Email [email protected] for more on that!

Weather

The rain should give way to autumnal sunshine on Tuesday evening.
