Parkway back at Bolitho for a big fixture against Poole Town
Parkway v Poole Town | Match PreviewBy Mike Parrish
Bolitho Park will host an mouth-watering Bank Holiday Monday fixture as Plymouth Parkway welcomes Poole Town, with both teams aiming to secure three valuable points in this season’s Southern League campaign.
Both sides currently find themselves at the wrong end of the table with games in hand. Poole Town sit 14th, while Parkway occupies a relegation spot in 20th position. After a series of defeats, Parkway found renewed hope as they returned to Bolitho last Tuesday, securing three important points against bottom side Didcot Town.
They then traveled to Sholing over the weekend, where Dylan Jones’ superb stoppage-time header earned them a 1-1 draw, securing four points from their last two matches. With this momentum, Parkway will aim to accumulate seven points from nine as they host the Dolphins at PL5 tomorrow.
Poole, currently in 14th place, is eager to secure wins and solidify their position in the division for next season. Despite recent struggles against teams like Winchester City, Hendon, Sholing, and Hungerford Town, the Dolphins displayed resilience on Good Friday, holding promotion-chasing AFC Totton to a goalless draw, earning a valuable point.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides this season, and both managers will view these fixtures as opportunities to secure vital wins.
For Parkway, the match against Poole Town kicks off another busy week, with two further fixtures scheduled at Bolitho Park, starting with AFC Totton on Thursday evening, followed by a crucial match against Swindon Supermarine on Sunday.
