Parkway looking to respond to FA cup exit at Bolitho

After leaving one cup competition, Parkway have a chance to progress in another this weekend when they face off against Dorchester Town.

The two sides have already met in the league, with Jared Lewington’s goal in the first half eventually being undone by a fine display from the Magpies in the second 45.

Dorchester have lost four of their last five games, but they claimed a massive three points against Harrow Borough on Saturday.

Parkway took their first home league win of the season over Salisbury at the end of September, before embarking on their first-ever third round qualifier in the FA Cup against Oxford City.

A heart-breaking late equaliser away from home last weekend forced a replay, and another late surge from the Hoops sent Lee Hobbs’ men out of the oldest cup competition in world football.

It was another harsh result that did not reward a battling performance, but the Yellows can be proud of their wonderful and unprecedented progress.

From the ashes of their FA Cup exploits rises the chance to surge forward in the FA Trophy, and that brings us to Saturday.

Parkway will be at Bolitho again, and if the improvements since the third league game of the season are anything to go by, a repeat of Tuesday night’s performance stands Parkway in good stead.

We made the fourth round of the competition last term, before being knocked out by Spennymoor Town.

Saturday’s opponents made it to the third qualifying round, but Totton would see them out with the 2-0 win.

Past meetings

The defeat in August was the one and only meeting between the two clubs, so Saturday presents a chance to set the record straight against the Dorset side.
