Fortress Bolitho prepares to keep out the Police

By Mike Parrish

Following the disappointment of Tuesday evening’s postponement against Dorchester Town, Bolitho Park prepares for match day 14 of this season’s Southern League campaign with the visit of Metropolitan Police.

Despite the midweek postponement, there would be some exciting news for Yellows fans after being handed a big game tie in the 3rd round of the FA Trophy as we prepare to travel to National League Barnet FC.

Our name in the hat alone was just reward following a professional performance on the road against National League South side Oxford City in the 2nd Round. The game would be won by penalties but the maturity shown throughout the team proved just how far the squad have come since the opening day of the season.

It would be our third meeting with Oxford City and across the three games, the squad have shown their quality and ever growing reputation to cope in high pressure games against teams that on paper, should be progressing in cup competitions.

The Trophy run has helped propel Parkway’s league campaign and superb home form has helped Lee Hobbs’ side move to 17th in the league, albeit, with a number of games in hand. They will look to make it 5 league wins on the spin this Saturday as Metropolitan Police make the trip to PL5.

Gavin McPherson brings his Metropolitan Police side to Plymouth following a point on the road on Monday evening against Beaconsfield Town with Herson Rodrigues-Alves netting both goals in a 2-2 draw. The point would add to their points tally of 26 and sees them sit 8th in the table.

The Police have struggled for consistency but have still put together 8 wins, with 2 draws and 8 defeats making up their Southern League record so far this season. With undoubted quality throughout McPherson’s squad, they will surely still have firm eyes on the play-offs and on their day are a match for anyone throughout the division.

Saturday’s fixture is kindly sponsored by Pilkington Estates and it is a fixture that has been eagerly anticipated by many of the Yellows supporters.

Online tickets are available for the fixture. Beat the queue and book your ticket HERE before heading to Bolitho this weekend.

With Plymouth’s professional side not in action, this will be the city’s premium fixture and it has all the ingredients to be a blockbuster.

Join us this Saturday as we open from 12pm
