Bolitho Park all set for another night under the lights

Parkway have been down a rollercoaster path to get to the third round of the FA Cup, and another Bolitho battle awaits against Oxford City on Tuesday night.

Two 3-2 wins against Didcot and North Leigh have helped Lee Hobbs’ men to this stage, and for the first time this season, the Yellows have come up against higher league opposition.

You would not really have known that after a splendid display on Saturday saw them take the lead through Jack Crago 82 minutes in.

Not for the first time this campaign though, heartbreak struck when Canice Carroll headed home, and necessitating another cup clash at Bolitho.

There will have been plenty of reason for optimism heading into this week, particularly by an away performance that, if repeated, could translate into a home victory to take the Ocean City into the final round of qualifying.

The opportunity to make it into the first-round proper is so close, but the boys will know not to take their eye off Tuesday night against a stubborn Oxford City side, who proved last weekend that they will not go away without a fight.

The visitors have won three on the road this campaign, including their 2-1 cup victory over Salisbury.

Victory in the replay would see Parkway come up against Hornchurch in an away fixture on 15 October.
