Parkway in rare league action at Bolitho as Salisbury make a midweek trip to Plymouth

Without sugar-coating the result, Saturday afternoon was a harsh end to what had been a fantastic afternoon for Parkway, but a 4-1 win became a 4-4 draw against Hartley Wintney.

It was a tough pill to swallow having played so well, but the boys have to pick themselves up and find the positives from the fact that they proved they can go up against teams in this division and compete exceptionally.

Goals by Billy Palfrey, Ryan Lane, Jack Crago and Ben Seymour earned the Yellows a point, and it might have been more on another day.

Two for the campaign will not be pleasing for Lee Hobbs, but the fact that Parkway have walked away from so many games in a new league surrounding knowing that they might have got a better result is, if nothing else, highly encouraging.

There is nothing better to pick the lads up from disappointment than an adoring Bolitho faithful, who will be there in numbers on Tuesday night.

The next chapter of Parkway’s slightly tumultuous adventure this season sees them take on Salisbury, who are sixth in the league.

They have won five so far in the 2022-23 season, two of which have come away from home, while Parkway are yet to record a win this season.

Performances like that on Saturday give a sense of optimism that the first collection of three points is not a million miles away, and the immense team spirit instilled in the squad will have cultivated a perennial belief that wins are possible every game.

Salisbury are on good league form, winning four of their last five in the South League Premier Division South.

Past Meetings

The two sides last met in the FA Trophy in 2021, and Parkway ran out 4-0 winners thanks to goals from Mike Landricombe and Billy Palfrey, as well as a brace by Rio Garside.

Travel

It takes about 180 minutes to get down to Bolitho from Salisbury, travelling down the A303, the A30, and then the A38 down towards Plymouth.

Please consult Salisbury’s travel or communications team for more information about club-organised travel on Tuesday afternoon.

Temperatures will descend to around 13 Degrees Celsius ahead of kick-off, and a 33 percent chance of rain is expected.
