Parkway looking to avenge heavy Gosport defeat
Following a heavy defeat earlier in the season, Parkway look for a riposte against Gosport Borough this weekend when they face them at Bolitho.
It was on matchday five of the season that Parkway travelled to Hampshire and took a heavy loss at the hands of Gosport, but a lot changes in four months, and things generally have done in our neck of the woods.
Exactly a month after that nightmare day out, the Yellows claimed their first league win of the season and have added four more since then.
Strong efforts in both the FA Cup and the FA Trophy have been intertwined with a season that has offered a lot of promise after such a difficult start.
The squad, the formbook and the outlook on the season have improved, and the league table tells a conspicuous lie.
21st in the league, we find ourselves 15 points behind sixth-placed Dorchester with five games in hand over the Dorset side, so it is difficult to stress just how exciting the next four months are in Southern League football.
We are six points and as many positions behind Gosport having also played six games less than them. Borough have claimed seven wins in total this campaign, tasting defeat on 14 occasions.
