All Back Bolitho for a Boxing Day Cracker
For the first time in over six weeks, Plymouth Parkway return to Bolitho on Monday afternoon to face off against Truro City in a mammoth Boxing Day clash.
The Yellows’ last outing at home came against Hayes & Yeading as far back as 12 November, but that 3-1 victory that day feels an awfully long time ago now.
Numerous cancellations, home and away, have made for an incredibly tough winter for a great many clubs in the lower tiers of English football, but through resilience and perseverance, some fixtures have been managed.
Sadly, for the boys, the last one ended in a cruel defeat at the hands of Barnet despite a terrific effort in London – football is a true labour of love.
Nonetheless, the performance over the 90 minutes was a promising one against National League opposition, so every single one of the players had a lot to be proud of as they left the capital.
Moving on, it’s back to league action just after Christmas, and we come up against a Truro side that have claimed 14 wins so far this campaign, leaving them second in the table.
Half of those have come away from home, but this is just as much of a home game for our opponents as it is for us. That is why taking bragging rights at Bolitho at the start of next week holds such significance for both sides.
