Parkway set to lock horns with the stags for a place in the next round of the FA Trophy
AFC Totton vs Parkway | Match PreviewBy Alex Haynes
Plymouth Parkway hit the road again this weekend, this time to face AFC Totton in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy.
Parkway will go into this fixture full of confidence. Our league campaign is back on track after a brilliant 5-0 win over Dorchester Town, and most recently a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Winchester City. The Yellows will hope they can carry this form over to the Trophy on Saturday afternoon.
Our opponents were crowned champions of the Southern League Division One South last season and are faring well in the Premier Division so far having already picked up 16 points from 9 games. They have been scoring for fun this season, but the Yellows have also proved to be dangerous going forward, so goals are all but guaranteed in this one.
During our successful 21/22 season, the two teams shared the spoils. Totton were 1-0 winners at the Snows Stadium, and Parkway defeated the Hampshire club at Bolitho by the same scoreline.
This has all the hallmarks of a close match, and both sides will fancy their chances of progression before turning their attention back to league football next week.
