The focus shifts back to the league as Parkway welcome Hanwell Town to PL5

Parkway v Hanwell Town | Match Preview

By Alex Haynes

Southern League Premier South action returns this Saturday as Plymouth Parkway take on Hanwell Town at Bolitho.

The slow start to the season is now well and truly behind us as Parkway are now unbeaten in three games. The campaign is ramping up and the Yellows are finding their feet, picking up four points in two league games and securing a 2-0 win against Dorchester Town in the first round of FA Cup qualifying.

Hanwell got off to a flying start in the league by winning their first two fixtures, but their form has dipped recently, and they have only picked up one point in their last three. They also suffered a 1-0 loss to Knaphill in FA Cup qualifying.

Parkway have been playing well as a unit. As the season has progressed, they have looked more threatening going forward and tightened up defensively. Two clean sheets in the last three games will inspire confidence all round.

The lads will again be without captain Ryan Lane on Saturday, and they will also be missing striker Jack Crago. The pair were sent off in the 2-2 draw with Tiverton Town on bank holiday Monday after receiving two yellow cards apiece.

Parkway have strength in depth though and will be confident they can keep this run of form going. Saturday promises to deliver yet another competitive and entertaining match at Bolitho as the Yellows look to pull away from the drop zone. They sit one place above it after six games and are only three points behind their opponents.

Last season, Hanwell Town defeated Parkway 1-0 at The Powerday Stadium. The match ended 1-1 at Bolitho, with The London Geordies scoring a late equaliser after Toby Down had opened the scoring.
