Frome will have had time to reflect on what went wrong, while Parkway will have had to manage the demands of a quick turnaround and another competitive fixture. Curtis acknowledged after Saturday’s win that both sides were already thinking ahead to Tuesday, with Frome making changes late in the cup tie and Parkway also using the depth of the squad.

The Robins remain fifth with 13 points from seven league matches and had made an impressive return to the division following promotion last season. Their opening campaign included wins over Wimborne and Evesham United, while victories against Bath City underlined the threat they carry.

Parkway, meanwhile, take their place at the top end of the table having now won seven consecutive games in all competitions.

The wider numbers underline just how strong the run has become. Parkway have won 13 of their last 18 league matches, drawing three and losing two, while across the last 21 competitive fixtures the record stands at 16 wins, three draws and two defeats.

Parkway’s last ten home matches have produced nine victories and a draw, with the last defeat coming against Hungerford back in February.
