Parkway prepare for Winchester test

By Rob Kershaw

After a convincing return to winning ways on Tuesday night, this weekend presents another opportunity for Parkway to record victory as they head to Winchester.

It was the second win of the season over Dorchester in three games against them, but this will be the first time this campaign we have faced off against Winchester.

Two meetings with the Citizens have been postponed but there should be nothing to get in the way of this encounter as we look to add three more points to the tally.

Logic should suggest that we will. Just two wins in the last 16 for our upcoming opponents in league competition leaves them 17th in the league, two positions behind ourselves having played five games more.

Just one of their six victories have come at home, so this is a real opportunity for Parkway to not only go seven unbeaten, but also to get our fifth win in that time.

As always though, no one can ever be taken for granted in this league, as some sides have found out against Lee Hobbs’ boys.

Past Meetings

We came up to the Southern League Premier South with Winchester, and our away fixture with them last year was a cracker.

Both sides ended the 3-3 draw with 10 men on the field, before Billy Palfrey’s goal earned victory for the Yellows at Bolitho last March.

Travel

The A303 and the A272 take you towards the A34 in a journey that should last just under three hours. A short run-down Andover Road and Park Road will see you through to the Charters stadium.

Weather

Temperatures will go above 10 Degrees Celsius in Winchester on Saturday, and there is a slight chance of rain ahead of kick off.
