Plymouth Parkway Princesses were looking to make a good impression in Division One, the newly promoted side faced Liskeard Tigers for their first match of the season.
Both teams started brightly with Parkway edging the first quarter 6-3, the Division 1 debutants showed they were more than ready for the test, stretching their lead to 15-7 with some impressive interceptions from defenders Tamsin Davies and Hayleigh Bickford, Parkway capitalised with some magnificent goals from GS Sarah Taylor.
Sensational defending from Sophie Dunlavey and GD Tamsin in the third quarter limited the Tigers to just the one goal.
Fantastic court progression from Parkway to feed their shooters increased their lead to 22-8 at the end of the third.
Susan May and Emma Price provided that vital link in centre court, sending some marvelous passes into their hard working GA Sally Reynolds to feed their GS Sarah under the post.
Parkway kept up the momentum in the final quarter and pushed hard until the final whistle, strong and decisive play from all of the Princesses resulted in the match ending with a great 28-12 win. Liskeard Tigers GA *** was their nominated player and Tamsin Davies and Sarah Taylor shared Parkway’s nomination.
