THE HISTORY OF BUCKLAND ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUB.

The club was formed in 1977 purely as a junior club.

We started life in the Torbay Pioneer League and Sandringham Park was our home pitch. As a junior club it was the biggest in the area, running a total of six sides in six different age groups for several seasons. We won many titles over the years including the Devon Youth Cup.

We have been a Charter Standard club since 2005, and we have three senior sides,

The 1st Team playing in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division (Step Five), the 2nd Team in the South Devon League Premierr Division and the 3rd Team in the South Devon League Division One.

New for the 2015-16 season, we have Buckland Athletic Ladies. Then comes the Ladies Development Team and Under 12 Girls side for the 2016-17 season. Added to that was the extensive work on Homers Heath to achieve a ‘D’ Grade which is good enough for Southern League Football.
