The opening exchanges were measured. Louis McGrory’s early involvement forced the first corner of the afternoon inside two minutes, Carlo Garside clearing the resulting delivery. Love-Holmes won Parkway’s first corner shortly after, though it came to little.
Hungerford’s approach was direct from the outset. With Thomas Conteh and Andrio Brandao leading the line, the visitors looked to move the ball quickly from back to front and impose their physical presence. Parkway were forced to match that tempo early.
Against that pattern, it was the home side who struck first. On 12 minutes, Ryan Brett’s flick found Rocky in space, and the striker guided a neat finish into the bottom corner to give Parkway the lead.
The advantage was short-lived.
Within minutes, captain Shane White was shown a red card by referee Carl Peters, his challenge deemed dangerous. Parkway were reduced to ten men and reshaped immediately, Brett dropping into defence alongside Jack Veale.
From there, Hungerford began to control possession, attempting to use their numerical advantage to push Parkway deeper. The home side responded with discipline, looking to find space down the flanks when opportunities arose.
Love-Holmes combined well to release Rio Garside on the edge of the area, but the effort cleared the bar. On 29 minutes, Love-Holmes saw a half-chance fall kindly after a ricochet inside the box, though his left-footed strike drifted wide.
Rocky remained central to Parkway’s attacking threat. With his back to goal, he created space for himself inside the area and forced a sharp save from Luke Cairney, while continuing to work the channels and occupy defenders.
There were strong appeals for a penalty when Love-Holmes went down inside the box, but the referee was unmoved.
Hungerford’s first clear opportunity arrived when Brandao flashed an effort narrowly wide of Frankie Phillips’ post. Shortly before the break, the visitors introduced Charlie Austin in place of Jerry Gyebi, seeking further attacking presence. McGrory then saw a sight of goal but failed to find the target.
At the interval, Parkway led through Rocky’s early strike but faced the second half a man light.
There were no changes from the hosts at the restart, while Hungerford introduced Kyle Tooze for Jake Leahy. Josh Marcon had the first effort of the half following patient build-up, though his strike angled wide.
Parkway earned a couple of set pieces but were unable to capitalise, a key detail with ten men.
The equaliser arrived on 53 minutes. A driven set-piece delivery was met by the head of Tooze, who found the net despite appeals from the Parkway defence for offside.
The home side continued to compete and search for moments. Neal’s free-kick was comfortably gathered by Cairney, and on other occasions the final decision lacked precision when openings threatened to develop.
Hungerford’s pressure from wide areas and set plays remained consistent. When Parkway failed to clear their lines, Ramarni Medford-Smith created space and squared for Charlie Austin to finish from close range, turning the contest in the visitors’ favour.
McPhee responded by introducing Milimo Nalumango and Gunnar Franke for Jenson Ireland and Love-Holmes, shifting to a back three. Callum Hall followed soon after, replacing Carlo Garside.
Hungerford withdrew, inviting Parkway forward and looking to counter. Austin broke through once more but saw his effort saved before pulling up with what appeared to be a hamstring issue.
The visitors managed the closing stages carefully, slowing play where possible as Parkway pushed in search of an equaliser.
For all their effort with ten men, Parkway were undone by two deliveries into the box and moments they could not clear. The support at Bolitho remained vocal throughout, but the result leaves the home side deep in the fight at the bottom of the table, with another demanding fixture ahead at Taunton Town next weekend.
